Chloride is a global leader in the design and manufacture of uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems, serving critical applications in the energy, transportation, industrial, and infrastructure sectors.
Founded in the 1890s, Chloride began as a battery design and manufacturing company. Over time, the company evolved to meet the power supply demands of heavy industries, transitioning into the development and installation of mission-critical industrial UPS systems. Throughout its long history, Chloride has expanded its expertise through strategic acquisitions, including AEES (France), Power & Electronic Services Limited (Ireland), Siemens’ UK UPS service division, and ONEAC. These acquisitions have reinforced Chloride's reputation for unmatched design and service excellence in the UPS industry.
In 2010, Chloride Group was fully acquired by Emerson Electric. After several acquisitions and rebranding efforts, the management team led a buyout in 2021, restoring the company’s original name—Chloride, which had previously been rebranded as Vertiv in 2016.
